The Sycamore, Ashton-U-Lyne reopened its doors in mid April following a six-week extensive refurbishment designed to enhance customer experience and the pub’s longevity, versatility and customer accessibility - values that remain central to our approach to pub investments.
The refurbishment has seen the entire downstairs area redesigned, including significant structural alterations to create a more open layout. New sliding doors have also been added, allowing the space to be easily divided into two separate areas for private functions and events when required, adding further flexibility to the venue.
A newly positioned central bar now serves as the focal point of the pub, immediately visible from both entrances and welcoming guests into the heart of the venue. Featuring chequerboard-style floor tiles and contemporary lighting fixtures, the redesigned bar creates a strong first impression while improving the overall flow of the space.
The pubs walls are covered in rich green wall tones and wood panelling which have been paired with carefully selected artwork, including botanical prints and historic local imagery that celebrates Ashton-under-Lyne’s heritage and Stamford park which is located opposite. Additional decorative touches such as a feature fire place, pendant lighting, wall lights and table lamps help create a warm and inviting atmosphere, while new fixed and loose furniture enhances both the dining and drinking experience.
Outside, the beer garden has undergone a complete transformation. Previously, an area that blended into the pub’s car park, has now been reinvented into a summer sun trap for guests to enjoy throughout the warmer months.
As part of the refurbishment, accessibility improvements have been introduced, including a new universally accessible WC facility on the ground floor. Customers can also enjoy a newly added front-of-house coffee station, broadening the pub’s daytime offering.
If you are in the area, pop in yourself and see the transformation!
