The Friendship in Glossop has long been known as a welcoming local with a great pint and a laid-back beer garden. Now, after a thoughtful refurbishment, the pub has entered an exciting new era — one that offers even more for its loyal regulars and new faces.
There is now a new game and viewing area, which was once an old unused former storeroom, found at the back of the pub. By knocking through a wall and reimagining the unused space, the pub has gained an additional 20 covers and created a dedicated zone for sports fans and those who enjoy a casual game of pool or darts. The new space features two large TVs, a pool table, and a darts board, with rich new panelling, fittings, and finishes that blend seamlessly with the original character of the pub - as if it’s always been there.
Now, the layout naturally divides into two inviting sections: the front of the pub retains its relaxed, social vibe, perfect for casual drinks and conversation, while the back offers a lively, entertainment-focused space ideal for watching the football or challenging friends to a game. This clever separation means there’s something for everyone, without compromising space.
