Following a 4-week accommodation refurbishment, The Fountaine Inn near Skipton welcomes guests back to experience a blend of comfort, character, and countryside luxury, overlooking the Yorkshire hills.
The project was a full refurbishment of five letting rooms, including one spacious king-size room with a double sofa bed, three king-size rooms, and one twin room. Each space has been redesigned to enhance both style and practicality, ensuring a relaxing stay for every guest.
The aim behind the project was to create a timeless, traditional aesthetic, whilst also being practical by improving durability for the pub’s outdoorsy customers. Our Design team used luxury vinyl tile flooring throughout all refurbished rooms. Not only did this enhance the overall look of the rooms, but it also makes the rooms more dog friendly and practical - perfect for walkers and adventurers spending the night after exploring the Yorkshire Dales!
The warm, welcoming colour palette is a theme that can be seen throughout the refurbishment, with soft pastel tones in the bedrooms and bathrooms, complemented by carefully selected tiling, bed furnishings, lighting and furniture. The result is beautiful and creates the deal ambient space after a busy day.
The ‘Studio’ and ‘Barn Door’ rooms were thoughtfully decorated with bespoke bedheads to elevate the rooms and make the beds the focal point of the room, giving a sense of increased space in the more compact rooms. The artwork in the rooms has been carefully selected to reflect the surrounding landscape. Featuring trees, flowers, and wildlife, the pieces capture the essence of nature, subtly bringing the outdoors inside and reinforcing the Inn’s connection to its rural setting.
Throughout the refurbished upstairs space, guests can find the walls are adorned with designs by Sheila Bownas, the renowned Yorkshire textile designer associated with ‘Studio’. In the corridors leading to the rooms, there is literature about her work, this thoughtful inclusion adds a layer of heritage and interest for guests to enjoy.
