The Dane Bank on Windmill Lane, Denton, has recently been given a fresh update making the pub feel more spacious and welcoming.
When the pub was initially refurbished in 2021, the request of the locals was leave the vault bar untouched and retain its laidback approach for those who enjoyed using it. Over time, as the pub has got busier, the pre-existing vault bar became a lonely sibling to the rest of the pub, lacking the warmth and atmosphere the rest of the Dane Bank offered. With the pub being a busy spot popular with families and groups of friends alike, it was time to bring the old into the new and create unity across the pub.
To make this happen the bar has been moved to a new position, and a wall has been taken down to open up the interior and create a better flow throughout. A new front door now provides one clear entrance instead of the previous two side doors, giving the pub a stronger sense of unity and a warmer first impression.
Whilst most of the pub was already quite stylish and in good shape, the improvements have made a real difference. The Dane Bank now feels more open and connected, while still keeping the familiar character and atmosphere that regulars appreciate.
Built in the inter-war years and owned by Robinsons Brewery, the Dane Bank retains many of its original features and continues to serve the community as a proper local pub. With a selection of real ales, home-cooked food, and a friendly welcome, it’s got the same great atmosphere just with more space to enjoy it!
