This week is National Apprenticeship Week, and we are celebrating some of Head Office apprentices and apprentices that we have in our pubs. Apprenticeships are a great scheme for people wanting to develop skills whilst getting on the job ladder. This year’s theme is ‘Skills for Life’, which highlights how important the crucial skills they learn during the apprenticeships pave the way for the individuals future and also are beneficial for employers as businesses develop too. We are fortunate enough to have apprentices across our business in our Managed pubs and in our Head Office. So, without further ado, let’s highlight some of our apprentices:
Holly Gill – Spread Eagle, Sawley

Holly started her journey with us at the Spread Eagle, Sawley as part of our Front of House team when our apprenticeship team approached her to become a Social Media Apprentice for us in 2024. Holly has now been with us since 2022 and has successfully completed her apprenticeship with a Distinction grade. Holly has been doing a great job of creating engaging content for our pubs and we are grateful to have her as part of the team at the Spread Eagle!
"I really enjoyed learning new skills within content creation and social media marketing, as well as having the opportunity to travel to different Robinsons pubs and meet new people. I found it rewarding to interact with customers through social media and helping to build a strong brand personality and presence for each individual pub." - Holly Gill, Spread Eagle
Congratulations Holly, for completing your course and keep the brilliant content coming!
Zak Owczarek – Apprentice Engineer at UPC

At UPC, our Apprentice Engineer Zak Owczarek continues to excel during his Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. Now halfway through his apprenticeship, Zak is already achieving Distinctions in all units completed so far. Zak has completed electrical, handfitting, turning, milling and pneumatical section during his course, with more to come! He has also completed additional education with us such as confined space training, abrasive wheels training, boiler awareness training and now has his IPAF license which allows him to drive and operate scissor lifts and cherry pickers.
Zak adds “I think I have settled in well here and the engineering staff are my family, I am away from home and continuing to push myself as hard as I can to get the most out of my apprenticeship. Everyone is so friendly around the site, and I am learning more every day. I can’t wait for the day I can be a fully contributing member of the Robinsons team.”
A huge congratulations, Zak - keep up the outstanding work!
Hannah Wilson – Trainee Management Accountant

Hannah Wilson began her accountancy journey with us in October 2020 as a Finance Assistant and has since progressed to her current role as Trainee Management Accountant.
In September 2021, Hannah started her Level 2 AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification and worked her way up to Level 4 by October 2024. Building on this success, she began her Level 7 ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) qualification in July 2025, a globally recognised professional program that will see her become a Chartered Certified Accountant upon completion.
It’s fantastic to see Hannah developing her skills and making such a valuable contribution to our finance team. We wish her every success as she continues her course over the next few years!
