BULLS HEAD TEAMS UP WITH THE NHS TO PROVIDE FREE ACCOMMODATION FOR FRONT-LINE STAFF

Robinsons Brewery has teamed up with Wythenshawe Hospital and the NHS to provide free accommodation for staff who are helping to fight the Coronavirus outbreak though the Bulls Head pub in Hale Barns.

The pub, which offers 21 bedrooms, opened its rooms again last week to support the nearby hospital and provide accommodation for key works who may be working far away from home or working longer shifts to help combat Covid-19.

Nicky Lee, the General Manager of the pub drummed up support through social media and on local groups and the community came out in droves to support our front-line workers during the lockdown by donating items for the Bulls Head’s very important guests.

Lots of items were gifted from local residents and businesses including snacks, drinks, home-baked cakes and even rooms decorated in rainbow paintings thanks to local children.

William Robinson, Joint Managing Director at Robinsons Brewery, said: “We wanted to do something to help our essential workers and community during the fight against Coronavirus. We have a hotel close to the hospital so it made perfect sense to allow staff to stay with us without any cost to them or the NHS. After all, it’s the least we can do to thank them for all their hard work during these difficult times. We were on the verge of re-opening the pub following a substantial investment when pubs were asked to close and so it is excellent that we can make use of the hotel facilities in the meantime.”

Along with the support for the NHS, Robinsons also announced a new charitable beer to raise money for the NHS called ‘Gratitude’ and have invited drinkers to submit their designs for the pump clip on Facebook.

Closing, William said: “There is a real team spirit throughout the business and amongst all our pubs. We’re all in this together! Throughout our tenanted estate we have many other examples where licensees are supporting front line workers, schools and their local communities with small shops, meals or accommodation. We are nothing without the great people who work at Robinsons and our loyal drinkers and this is a great way for us to show our community support in the same way our customers have supported us for over 180 years.”
