ROBINSONS GO WEST FOR GROWTH

Robinsons Brewery are growing their family of pubs after investing in 3 Welsh pubs: The Four Alls in Caernarfon, The Seacroft in Trearddur Bay, Anglesey, and The George III Hotel set on the banks of the magnificent Mawddach Estuary on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. The Stockport family brewer, who recently celebrated their 181st birthday, now owns 30 pubs in Wales and a total of 260 pubs across the North West.

William Robinson, Managing Director (Pub Division), explains: "As a business, we’ve been working really hard to strengthen our award-winning estate of pubs, inns and hotels across the North West. As part of our ongoing acquisition and investment strategy, we were delighted to have the opportunity to acquire The Four Alls, The Seacroft and The George III Hotel. These pubs are an excellent fit for Robinsons and reinforce our presence in North Wales; a place we’re very passionate about.”

Robinsons have invested £27m and completed over 130 pub refurbishments in the past 5 years, and The George III Hotel in Penmaenpool is the latest in a series of 12 managed pubs to benefit from investment.

The historic building, originally constructed in 1650 to serve the flourishing boat building industry, received a sympathetic update which celebrates the pub’s unique and rich history. The new look feels rustic yet contemporary against the breath-taking backdrop of the surrounding Welsh countryside.

The George, as it’s known to the locals, has 10 fabulous guest rooms (8 of which are dog-friendly), a large breakfast and dining area with sweeping views across the Estuary and a delicious seasonal menu, 2 bar areas serving the pub’s own Springer Ale, and something all good pubs must have… a cosy snug. The George offers a perfect base for visitors to explore the fantastic countryside, its many walks, climbs, lakes and panoramic views.

An hour’s drive up the coast is Caernarfon; a haven for holiday makers and home to Wales’ most famous castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a variety of independent shops, cafes, and pubs. Located within the medieval town walls is The Four Alls, one of the oldest pubs in the town.

Following an intensive refurbishment, The Four Alls has been transformed into a warm, inviting, vibrant and contemporary town centre pub with stylish open plan seating, a striking new bar, and an attractive courtyard beer garden; perfect for sunny days. Original stone walls have been exposed and restored to enhance the traditional Welsh heritage feel, together with solid oak floorboards and flagged floors, while eclectic bric-a-brac of antique armour helmets and breast plates offer a nod to the history of the town and of course the castle.

Another 40 minutes’ drive west, over the Britannia Bridge, is The Seacroft; an attractive 5-star pub and restaurant with 6 en-suite guest rooms, located in Treaddur Bay on the stunning coast of the Isle of Anglesey.

The Seacroft was awarded Best Pub 2012 and 2013 by the Anglesey Tourism Association and Best Place to Stay in the pub category of the Association’s 2013 awards and achieved a 5-star rating for its restaurant and rooms from Tourism Wales. Whether you're fresh from walking the coastal path, relaxing after work, looking for a weekend break, or just nipping out with friends for a little downtime and a pint, The Seacroft provides a warm welcome, rel="noopener noreferrer" superb local food, comfort, rest and recuperation for all.

With 260 tenanted and managed pubs across Cheshire, Derbyshire, Lancashire, Cumbria and North Wales, visitors to the North West can expect a great tasting beer, a hearty meal, an unforgettable stay, and a warm Robinsons welcome.
