A family-friendly pub in Whitegate

Overview

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced licensee to take the reigns of the prestigious The Plough Inn, Whitegate. Having been in the same family for over 25 years, this is the perfect opportunity for a new licensee to work on the already fantastic reputation that this pub has, with regards to its food and drink offering.  The Plough is located down the quiet country lane, Beauty Bank, which is popular with walkers and steeped in history.  The Plough offers traditional hand pulled Robinsons Ales, fine wines, and quality home cooked food. The building is extremely old, with it first being mentioned as an Inn in 1869.  Inside the pub, it is drenched in history, with two open fires in the main dining area and a large log burner in the snug.  The pub is set in idyllic surroundings, with a large, landscaped beer garden to the rear with comfortable seating and three large pods which are a new addition to the garden. Robinsons are looking for an experienced licensee to immerse themselves into the village life and to continue the good reputation for food and drink alike that has been built upon over the last 25 years.

The Detail

A Little more about us

Whitegate is a small village in Cheshire, England, located near the towns of Northwich and Winsford. It is situated in the civil parish of Whitegate and Marton, in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester. Whitegate was once connected to the national rail network, although the station was some distance from the village centre. The railway branched from the Chester to Manchester (via Northwich) line near Cuddington, with a single stop at Whitegate and terminated at Winsford and Over. Where heavy goods trains laden with salt once lumbered to Cuddington to join the Chester – Manchester line. Today the old railway line has been transformed and provides a haven for wildlife and a pleasant place for a stroll or ride. Stretching for six miles (10km) from the heart of Winsford to Cuddington, the route offers easy walking for all ages along a varied route. Whitegate is overall, a picturesque village. Perfect position for commuting to both Manchester and Chester.
