Set in the beautiful rolling hills of the Derbyshire Dales, you will find the picturesque pub that is The Crispin. Located in the picture postcard village of Great Longstone, the Crispin is the quintessential village pub, with award winning real ales and good, homecooked food. As you approach the pub you are met with the white washed building, beautiful hanging baskets and an extremely large car park. On entering the Crispin, you get the feel that this is a traditional pub, perfect for a couple of beers and a good homecooked meal after a long walk in the Derbyshire Dales. Sitting in the cosy glow of a real fire, you can take in the charming interior of this traditional country pub, with its many jugs and pub paraphernalia adorning the walls. To the rear of the pub, the current licensees have developed the sunny corner beer garden, adding shelters, marquees and seating for around 60 people. The pub has a great following with the classic car community, and frequently holds meetings/ tours at the pub. There are also darts and dominoes teams that frequent the pub on a weekly basis. Great Longstone is an attractive limestone village set around a pretty little green with an old cross. The village lies under the ridge of Longstone Edge, 2 miles from Bakewell. It has some charming old cottages along the main street, a handsome Georgian Manor House and a pretty church dating from the 13th century. The area is perfect for those wanting to explore the Derbyshire Dales and Peak district. Over the last year or so, there have been many more holiday lets and camping and caravan sites that have opened up in and around Great Longstone, a perfect haven for holiday makers.
