Overview

The Square and Compass is a historic inn located on the southern edge of the Peak District in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales between Bakewell & Matlock. The pub has only recently been refurbished with a traditional yet stylish interior. There is a central bar serving the large bar/dining area as well as the conservatory/games room. Within the bar and dining area, you will find two wonderful log burning stoves, all ready to keep customers warm and cosy with their pint! There is a beautiful walled garden to the rear of the pub, that have the most marvellous views of the Peak District. The former barn and farm cottage have been converted to provide five ensuite letting accommodation. There are three double and two family rooms, with one of the rooms found on the ground floor. A massive bonus is that Robinsons have just secured permission for the campsite to be reinstated across the road. This will be ran by the licensees with an allowance for 23 pitches, a mix of tents and caravans on the plot. Adding to a fourth income stream for the pub. The catering kitchen in the pub is of a good size and has all the equipment that you would need to produce good, homecooked food.  Robinsons are looking for a new licensee to push this business forward. Working with social media and booking platforms to get the letting bedrooms and camping plots advertised. The new licensee will want to restart the food offering here and push the wet trade also. This is a perfect opportunity for the new licensee to put their stamp on the Square and Compass.
