Situated on the banks of the River Derwent between the market towns of Bakewell and Matlock, the Square & Compass is a village inn which caters for locals and visitors alike, with quality food and drink, bedrooms and a camping & caravan site.

Delicious home cooked food is served daily & a good choice of Robinsons cask ales is always available. There is an extensive camping and caravan site with toilet and shower facilities. If fishing is your sport, then the pub has the fishing rights for a stretch of the river opposite the pub. For visitors to the area, we have five en-suite bedrooms available.
