BIIAB AWARD FOR PERSONAL LICENSE HOLDERS (APLH) LEVEL 2:

This course is a legal requirement for anyone applying for a Personal Licence. The course covers the rules and regulations of the Licensing Act 2003 and the four licensing objectives - prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, prevention of public nuisance and the protection of children from harm. Once you have taken this course and received your certificate, you can apply to your local council for your Personal Licence. PEAT (PRE-ENTRY AWARENESS TRAINING):

This course is a requirement for all new pub licensees. It will help you understand the various agreements within the pub sector; how to produce your business plan; and what business support is available. The course has been developed by the British Institute of Inn Keeping (BII) which is the professional body of the pub industry. LICENSEE INDUCTION PROGRAMME:

A new future in three days!

Robinsons is a truly independent, family run brewery. We've been that way for almost 180 years and that's the way we're going to stay, so you can plan for the future with confidence.

We believe that training is very important to running a successful business. Our three-day Induction Programme is compulsory for all new licensees joining us. Run in our state-of-the-art Visitor and Training Centre, the Induction Programme gives you the skills and knowledge required to run a successful pub and is an essential introduction to the partnership with Robinsons.

Everyone at Robinsons is here to help. You will have the opportunity to meet members of the team that will support you on your journey to taking a Robinsons pub and throughout your tenancy. During the three days we will cover a range of subjects including cellar management, legal obligations, marketing and promotions, food, wine and an introduction to our brands.

We believe the more you know, the more successful your business can be. In addition to our Induction Course, we also require licensees to have completed the following training requirements:

CPL E-LEARNING:

E-learning is a highly effective and interactive way of gaining more knowledge and, as a Robinsons’ licensee, you will benefit from access to an extensive programme of over 28 e-learning training courses. Most of the courses are optional and these are designed to help your staff improve overall service levels and sales. There’s also a series of mandatory courses that will help you save money and meet any legal requirements.

The cost of your first year is covered in your sign-up package so you can utilise as many courses as you like for all staff members.  The system is easy to use, available via the internet, and offers a wide range of compliance and softer skills training courses. All courses are interactive with graphics to aid learning, plus frequent key-point quizzes. 

CELLAR TRAINING:


Run monthly in our in-house training cellar at the 
Visitors Centre (used by Cask Marque for North West Accreditation) this half day course will prepare your staff on how to pour the perfect pint. Covering a range of topics including keg and cask handling, line cleaning, glass care and pouring the perfect pint.

APPRENTICESHIPS:


The Robinsons Apprenticeship Plus Programme offers a variety of apprenticeships to suit learners of all ages across all aspects of your business. The training is carried out at your venue and covers kitchen, bar, management and housekeeping. Included are mandatory legal requirements for Food Safety and Health and Hygiene and we also include modules for wine, customer service and The Award for Personal Licence Holders (ALPH). You may be eligible for a £1,500 grant per apprentice.

WINE TRAINING:

A popular course with food pubs, this Level 1 Certificate can be carried out in your own pub and gives all staff a thorough understanding of the basics about wine care and service.
