The General Burgoyne is a cosy country pub that sits in the picturesque village of Great Urswick, one and a half miles off the A590 between Dalton and Ulverston. The villages of Great Urswick and Little Urswick, together called Urswick, are located in the Furness peninsula in Cumbria, England. They are situated to the south-west of the town of Ulverston.

General Burgoyne is a very famous and historical pub built around 1631, with a unique name overlooking the Tarn. This pub is located in the picturesque village of Great Urswick, only a mile and a half from the main A590 and has acquired a fantastic reputation for good quality pub food. People travel from all around Barrow in Furness and the surrounding areas to dine at the General Burgoyne. There is a single bar serving a lounge area and conservatory restaurant. On the first floor is the Tarn View Suite, a cosy function room accommodating 30 guests with private bar and toilet facilities. Suitable applicants must be highly experienced in catering, preferably trained as a chef and be able to maintain the current food offer. Robinsons are seeking an experienced operator, ideally with letting room and food experience, who can continue to offer a warm welcome and high standards in this multi-faceted business.
