Area Overview

Heaton Mersey is a suburb of Stockport, Greater Manchester, adjacent to Didsbury and Burnage. It is mainly a residential area and commuter zone for Manchester. Heaton Mersey and its neighbouring areas (Heaton Norris, Heaton Chapel and Heaton Moor) are collectively known as the Four Heaton, and part of Heaton Mersey has been designated a conservation area.

Overview

A jewel in Heaton Mersey’s crown: The Crown is full of history and was originally a row of cottages, which in 1929 were transformed into a pub by Robinsons. This attractive whitewashed building is set within the conservation area of Heaton Mersey and set back from the Didsbury Road with a small car park and detached beer garden. From the front, the pub doesn’t appear to have a way in, however go around the side down the quaint and cobbled lane and you’ll gain entrance to this suburban pub with a real village feel. 

 

Trading Accommodation

As you enter there are distinctly rustic old beams and mix 'n' match furniture, which all add to the feel of the pub. To the left of the entrance is a large lounge with a small bar counter in the corner, and to the right is the main bar counter serving two smaller, interconnected snug rooms. Warm colours and comfortable seating complete the picture. The Crown offers traditional pub food with a bit of a twist, and looks both high quality and good value, as well as pub board games. Outside is a small carpark to the font of the pub and across the cobbled lane is a sheltered detached beer garden.
