Coach and Horses Congleton
UNDER RAINOW ROAD
This historic country pub is set within the beautiful countryside in the village of Timbersbrook near Congleton. The pub has amazing views over the Cheshire plains. The Coach and Horses is affectionately known locally as “The Fair House” as the local fair took place at this location in the 19th century. The pub has a friendly atmosphere and is frequented by countryside ramblers, visitors to the area and of course the local ‘regulars’.
The interior is typical for a country pub, with exposed beams, and walls decorated with maps, artefacts and pictures, some of which feature aircraft. In the small room there is a coal range, though unlike its counterpart in the kitchen, it is seldom used. The pub features a large central bar full of character, set off by the 3 open fires. A further attraction of the Coach is the splendid outlook over open countryside from the beer garden at the rear. Across the road is a safe children's play area, hedged from the road, and equipped with swings and a play tree.
