A little more about us

Pop in and enjoy a casual game of darts at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese. Whether you’re a regular or just passing through, it's a great way to relax and have a bit of fun with friends. Friendly dogs are always welcome on leads, so feel free to bring your four legged friend along! Although very much a locals’ pub with the usual pub games, we’re also known for our excellent home-cooked food served in the lounge and dining room. For drinkers, we offer a range of Robinsons cask ales and a selection of quality wines. Across the road, we have a converted barn with four en-suite bedrooms, all tastefully decorated and furnished. Staying at The Cheese is the perfect base for exploring the Peak District, and Alton Towers theme park is just a short drive away. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Our pub menu is packed with hearty, flavourful dishes sure to satisfy even the biggest appetite. Pair your meal with a cracking pint of Robinsons beer and enjoy the warm, welcoming atmosphere of our pub. Not in the mood for a big meal? No problem — our popular Street Food Menu runs Monday to Saturday. Don’t miss our Steak & Wine offer, available Monday to Saturday evenings: enjoy two 8oz sirloin steaks and a bottle of wine for just £50 - perfect for date night or a catch-up with friends. Booking is recommended, especially at weekends when we get very busy. Walk-ins are always welcome, but to avoid disappointment, give us a call to reserve your table in advance.

From 1st–22nd December, we’re offering a Christmas menu, available by pre-booking only, with sittings from 12.00–2.30pm and 5.00–7.30pm. Gather your friends, family, or colleagues and enjoy a cosy, festive atmosphere full of cheer and delicious food. Choose 2 courses for £24.95 or go all out with 3 courses for £29.95!
