The Red Lion is nestled in the picturesque village of Lower Withington, in the heart of Cheshire. The iconic world-famous Jodrell Bank Observatory graces the horizon, and we are privileged to offer you a warm welcome to our cosy country pub. We're passionate about providing a memorable experience for each guest who walks through our doors. At the Red Lion we offer excellent home-cooked food, award winning ales and a place where friends and families come together to create lasting memories. Our garden space is set across three areas, with a space for everyone and every occasion. We can offer function rooms to help you book your private gatherings, from celebrations of life, community functions to festive Christmas parties and everything in between, our intimate space is available for private hire. From 26th April, we’ll be closing for approximately six weeks for a well‑deserved refurbishment. While the work is underway, join us in the beer garden from Thursday 14th May, where our pop‑up kitchen and covered bar will be serving street food and drinks every Thursday to Sunday from noon. Our traditional Sunday Roast- "A taste of Cheshire” is served 12pm -7pm every Sunday. Choose from a choice of 4 meats, 48 hour proper stock gravy and locally sourced Farmers fresh vegetables. Vegan and Vegetarian options also available. We recommend that you book your table to avoid disappointment. *Please note that we can only accept telephone bookings at this time.
