The General Burgoyne is a great local country pub in Great Urswick. We have large beer garden which gets lots of sun throughout the day. We’re only 5 minutes drive from Ulverston and a 20 minute drive from Coniston!

Jo and the team warmly welcome you to The General Burgoyne, a fantastic pub whether you’re looking to cosy up in the winter by our inviting log fire or relax in our spacious beer garden during the summer. “The pie and peas are lovely tonight”. Made famous in the 60’s & 70’s by landlord Geoff Roe whose chant was heard by all and brought people from far and wide for the simple but delicious pie and mushy peas! Now served Wednesday to Saturday, keeping up the tradition.

Join us for Darts Nights at the General Burgoyne every Thursday and Friday from 7:30 to 10:00pm! We’re proud to host one ladies’ team and two men’s darts teams, offering a lively and competitive atmosphere. Come along and support the teams, or just enjoy the action with a drink in hand!

Quiz night – first Tuesday of every month from 8pm
