Crown & Cushion

In the historic town Of Appleby, Westmorland, the Crown & Cushion sits in the lower cloisters of the town. The Norman Appleby Castle sits 500 yards up the hill from our pub, where you can enjoy long walks alongside the river, or for those that dare to trek further; the Pennines.

The atmosphere during the fair is vibrant and lively and well worth a visit. The Cushion, as it’s known to the locals, offers a traditional bar with a separate pool and games area, and has a wide selection of cask ales, lagers and keg beers. We are a family friendly pub who like the company of well behaved, four legged friends, but they must be kept on their leads. We have large multi-screens displayed around the pub, showcasing Sky and BT Sports. There is a separate dining room which caters for larger groups and functions to host special occasions. We can also arrange a complimentary private room for business meetings, which catering can be arranged for to suit your needs, from breakfast, coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. The pub has three comfortable en-suite letting rooms, all have tea & coffee making facilities, toiletries and TV’s..
