The Cock & Magpie in Whitworth is a traditional country pub with plenty of character, great food, and a warm, friendly atmosphere. Whether you’re stopping by after a walk in the hills, visiting Cowm Reservoir, or just looking for a relaxed spot to enjoy a drink, you’ll always get a warm welcome here.

Our pub features a cosy lounge, a spacious beer garden, and a well-equipped games room where you can play a few rounds of pool or darts. We serve home-cooked food every evening and throughout the day on Sundays, with a great selection of drinks, including delicious Robinsons cask ales.

There’s plenty to see and do near the Cock & Magpie, making us the perfect stop before or after your adventure. Just a short walk away, Cowm Reservoir offers a scenic circular trail with stunning views of the surrounding hills—great for walkers, runners, and nature lovers. Around the reservoir you can see water skis from the Water Ski Academy, where there are fully accessible and inclusive lessons are available if you want to try it yourself!
