Robinsons Visitors Centre in Stockport are preparing to don their aprons in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Robinsons Brewery, along with members of the local community, will come together to donate cakes, pastries and sponges all with the aim to beat last year’s total of £627.11.
Olivia Holmes, Robinsons Visitors Centre Manger said: “We were blown away by the support last year. Macmillan are a wonderful cause that help patients and families who have been affected by cancer; it’s a charity that is near and dear to the hearts of many people in the brewery.”
The first ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ was held back in 1991, when 2,600 people registered to hold coffee mornings across the country. Since then, over £113 million has been raised for Macmillan Cancer Support. This year’s annual bake off is aiming to be bigger and better than ever.
Olivia said: “Whether you’re an expert with a piping bag or can find your way to the cake aisle in the supermarket, we want to invite everyone to donate anything they can. It’s a fantastic event and a guilt-free way to cheat on your diet!”
Supporters and brewery staff are invited to donate their show stopping bakes and signature cakes on Friday 26th September from 9.30-11.30am. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.
