Robinsons Brewery has been named Best International Trade Company at this year’s Stockport Business Awards. It was a double whammy for Robinsons as the 175 year old family run business, based at the very heart of Stockport, also bagged The Award for Innovation and Design.
It is no secret that the Cheshire family brewers have been busy bees of late. In the past 12 months alone Robinsons have rebuilt their time-honoured Victorian brew house, combining cutting edge technology with 175 years traditional brewing expertise; they have launched an innovative new beer and food matching concept with Simon Rimmer, and to top it all off they have enjoyed exponential success both at home and abroad with TROOPER, a beer created with Iron Maiden.

“Robinsons has been really successful with export in the past year, particularly due to some great new products and marketing campaigns such as its Trooper ale with Iron Maiden. It has exported to 20 new countries in 2013 alone and now exports to around 340 countries worldwide.”

“Robinsons has shown a lot of innovation over the last 12 months, both with diversification on products – the Trooper and Simon Rimmer ranges are great examples – and with the innovative use of the brand new brewery and visitors centre for tours, events and lunches.”
Robinsons received their awards at a black tie event at the Hallmark Hotel in Stockport attended by 340 business leaders from the region and the event itself raised £5270 for The Weekend Day Centre for Dementia Care.
William Robinson, Managing Director (Pubs Division) said: “We were delighted to win these awards. We’ve been working very hard to raise awareness of Robinsons and also to strengthen our family business for the future. I believe we will look back on 2013 as a significant game changer in years to come. This award is testament to the dedication of each and every tenant, employee and family member here at Robinsons.”
Andrew Baggott, MD of Clarke Nicklin who founded the awards, said: “The calibre of entries this year was fantastic and the awards evening was a huge success. It was great to see so many brilliant businesses from the town all under one roof and celebrating impressive achievements.”
