The country pub, located between Ellesmere and Whitchurch, has been chosen by the Stockport based brewer as part of a landmark year of investments which will see over forty pubs renovated.
Janis Bowyer, Business Opportunities Development Manager for Robinsons Brewery, said: “The Burlton Inn is a beautiful pub that is located in a wonderful rural location. It’s always been very popular thanks to its accommodation and beer garden but is in need of a little TLC.”
Plans for the Burlton include a make-over of the internal decor with brand new fixtures and furnishings that have been designed to complement the rustic feel of the hostelry. The layout of the pub will also change dramatically with a greater focus being made towards the bar area and the needs of customers who come to sample the rotating range of cask ales on offer.
“We have listened to the feedback from the locals of the pub,” said Janis, “the developed scheme will focus not only on its excellent food offering but will open the bar area up to accommodate for the demand from the pub’s drinkers.”
The new design has already attracted interest from would-be tenants who have their sights set on running the 18th century pub which features the benefit of six en-suite luxury bedrooms.
“We’ve had a lot of interest from publicans in the surrounding area” said Janis. “We want to make sure that we pick the right person for this new vision for the Burlton as we see it as one of our flagship pubs. We have reached out to several experienced pub and restaurant operators and even some chefs who we think would fit the bill. It takes a lot of work to make a pub work but anyone who has a great personality, strong work ethic and a love for pubs would make a great fit so we’re not ruling any applicants out!”
