ROBINSONS CELEBRATE EXPORT SUCCESS

Robinsons Brewery export success with 9 Hop IPA & Steam Lager
Robinsons Brewery export success with 9 Hop IPA & Steam Lager

Robinsons Brewery have celebrated 42% like-for-like growth in export sales by creating two special craft beers, 9 Hop IPA and Steam Lager, to answer the continuing demands of the global market.

The two new beers have already received interest from several key countries and have opened new export trading routes to Trinidad and Tobago; a country that the Stockport brewer have never exported to before.

Research by the BBPA (British Beer and Pub Association) in early 2014 has shown that British beer exports are worth £629 million to the UK and exports outside the EU have grown by 46.2% in volume since 2008. [1]

Ben Robinson, Head of Sales for Robinsons Brewery said: “The rise of craft beer is helping reach out to a new audience of drinkers and is thus driving sales. Innovative brews from microbreweries are en vogue and these new craft beers are a further chance for Robinsons to branch out into this demographic on a global platform.

The two new beers have been created to capitalise on the popularity of lagers and the rise of India Pale Ale style beers; In the US alone, I.P.A’s are soaring with volume up 47% and one in every five beers sold being an I.P.A. [2]

Whilst I.P.A’s are shifting drinking patterns, lager remains the most popular style of beer with the top ten best-selling beers in the world all lagers. [3]

Robinsons Brewery’s partnership with British rock legends Iron Maiden on their collaborative TROOPER beer has been a big factor in driving export for the brewer creating 13 new routes to market across the globe.

Ben continued: “The collaboration has certainly helped establish the Robinsons name in different places across the globe and many of these stockists are now starting taking other beers from the Robinsons range as well. These new routes to market have helped us grow our export sales by 42% in comparison to that of 2014.

Oliver Robinson, Managing Director for Robinsons Brewery (Beer Division) said: “The continued growth of our export division is representative of the global popularity of premium British beer. The demand is helping Robinsons enter new countries and share our brewing passion with new locations around the world. We’re very excited about 9 Hop IPA and Steam Lager, these brews have challenged our state-of-the-art brew house and allowed us to explore new styles that Robinsons aren’t synonymous with. It’s an exciting time for British beer.

9 Hop IPA and Steam Lager are available through our export team.
