The Robinsons pub will be hoping to raise funds for the cancer charity by hosting a night of entertainment topped off by a musical performance from former X-Factor semi-finalist Daniel Fox.
The event, which takes place on Friday 27th June, was born out of the tragic circumstances that surrounded a young girl’s fight with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Lauren Wild was diagnosed with the affliction at the end of 2013 but has since turned her experience into a positive and along with her team of fundraisers has helped raised over £20,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust and the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
“The whole night came about after we heard of the plight of Lauren” said licensee Joanne Resina. “Our children attend Wilmslow High School and know Lauren and her mother, who is a teacher, personally. We wanted to do whatever we could to help raise money for the charity. We are going to be having a hog roast, live music and a fantastic raffle with prizes donated to us by the local community.”
The grand prize for the raffle consists of an exclusive flying experience that will see the winners picked up from the King William before being flown across the picturesque Welsh coastline.
“We want to encourage the local community to come down and show their support for Lauren and her fundraising. We hope that our contribution will help make a difference but we cannot do it without you!”
The event starts at 7pm on Friday 27th June from the King William, 35 Manchester Road, Wilmslow, SK9 1BQ.
