We are delighted to announce that on Wednesday 23rd March we will be hosting a live ‘Tweet Tasting’ of our legendary Old Tom Beer.
Throughout the event our Head Brewer, Martyn Weeks, will be sampling our full range of Old Tom Beers including Ginger Tom, Chocolate Tom and of course, our original Old Tom Beer and we want YOU to join in!
Did you know? Old Tom, named after Robinsons’ brewery cat, has been brewed at our Unicorn Brewery in the heart of Stockport since 1899.
The recipe for this deliciously dark beer was developed by Alfred Munton (or Fred as he was better known), Robinsons’ Head Brewer in 1890. Fast-forward over 100 years and our brewery’s ‘Top Cat’ has swiped more awards than any other beer brewed by Robinsons to date.
With several wins at the World Beer Awards including World’s Best Ale in 2007 and 2013 and a host of accolades from the Campaign For Real Ale (CAMRA), it’s only fitting that we celebrate this British Brewing staple.
If you would like to take part in our exclusive Tweet Tasting, we will be happy to send you the samples you will need to join in the fun!
Click here to register your interest by emailing your name, address (so we can send you the samples) and Twitter handle, if you are one of the lucky ones we will be in contact.
The closing date for registration is Wednesday 2nd March. If you wish to take part please make sure you are free on the evening of Wednesday 23rd March.
Even if you’re not one of our selected sample tasters, it’d be great to have you join in and following the discussion by using the hashtag #OldTomTasting.
After the tasting there will be an opportunity to ask our Head Brewer any related beer questions you may have!
