The George and Dragon in Holmes Chapel have been nominated for a prestigious award. Marketing Cheshire has put the pub forward for the title of the ‘Tourism Pub of the Year’ in the Visit England Awards for Excellence 2014, the 25th anniversary of the Visit England event.
In 2013 the George and Dragon won the Taste Cheshire awards for Excellence in ‘Customer Service’ and ‘Best Pub in Cheshire’.
Since taking over the pub in 2010, landlord Martin Barnes and his team have worked hard to enhance the customer experience creating a haven for customers. They have strived to build relationships within the local community, using local suppliers where possible. The exterior of the pub has also been transformed, with the gardens being fully renovated at the end of 2011. This has enabled them to hold various community events including a garden party in the summer and Christmas markets in December.
Landlord Martin Barnes said, “We are delighted to be nominated for this award. We are passionate about putting our customers first so it is great to get this recognition. We hope to add this accolade to our previous awards.”
