Unicorn's younger, stockier brother, less assuming, smoother, but from the same pure bloodline.
A genuine heritage brew that has stood the test of time and remains proudly independent and true to its original recipe, there are few ales that can make this claim- 1892, as the name suggests, does it with pride.
In times gone by, it was the beer used for the hourly paid beer allowance at the brewery. Workers were allocated 4 pints a day, which usually had been consumed before midday. On many occasions the singing coming from the brewery could be heard all over Stockport. The beer allowance, and singing, stopped in 1990 due to Health and Safety regulations.
1892 is an excellent easy drinking nut brown Cheshire ale with a dry roasted nutty malt palate and a delicate Golding dry hop aroma. Finishing with a thirst Quenching balance of malt and hops. 1892 is also available as a dark ale.
